Very Old Carved Boot with Iron Nails, Presumed Pipe Tamper monk and a pair of men

and a pair of men climbing the tower in one of the photos

--with a hollow interior as well as a metal roof painted what is now a very mellow gold

As evident there is a little staining  to the paper on a couple at the top and toning around the edges

The stone is a beautiful deep marbled green

These would be great on a vanity or dresser used as pill boxes or containers for rings and earrings

Very Old Carved Boot with Iron Nails, Presumed Pipe Tamper monk and a pair of men(Hard to photograph because that black paint absorbs all the light so I set it atop a block, which maybe helps a bit.) I believe this is quite an early carved boot American I believe, and earlyish 19th c. I would guess and I believe it was meant to function as a pipe tamper. I really love the form, very folky and a little awkward, but also with this great high heel. And I especially love the old iron nails that run both down the front and around the
